Luna Rossa down 3-0

June 3, 2007

The Italians had a good start and looked eager to close the gap in the series, but their early enthusiasm turned to frustation as the New Zealanders pulled ahead after catching a good breeze a couple of minutes into the match. Once in front the Kiwis stayed there for the remainder of the match, sailing over the finish line a huge 1:38 ahead of Luna Rossa Challenge. It was a depressing day for the Italians as they lost their third straight match against Emirates Team New Zealand. They are now in the very uncomfortable position of needing 5 wins out of 7 races in order to win the Louis Vuitton Cup. Things are looking good for New Zealand, but the competition isn't over yet.
